CONCORD — Tax Relief Evaluation Task Force advances draft report on Residential Tax Exemption program. Co-chairs Lynn Salinger and Ellen Quackenbush, along with members Rich Feeley and Kathi O'Neil, approved revisions to the Findings section and quantitative analysis. The task force confirmed use of the term "non-qualifying" for parcels that did not receive the exemption and noted Concord's renter population is higher than surrounding towns but lower than other RTE-adopting communities such as Boston and Cambridge.
Salinger will prepare an Executive Summary reflecting the Findings and policy alternatives for Select Board presentation, with members emphasizing the need for improved communication about available tax relief options.
