CONCORD — Tax Relief Evaluation Task Force approves final report replacing the Residential Tax Exemption. The Task Force voted 7-0 to adopt the report with two amendments, clarifying that the Board of Assessors would set senior exemption asset thresholds and adding comparison towns to tax rate tables. Members split 4-3 on timing: four voted to delay RTE repeal until substitute tax relief measures are operational; three voted to begin repeal regardless of implementation status.
Co-chair Quackenbush indicated the Select Board will likely dismiss the Task Force after its May 18 meeting.
