CONCORD — The Concord Land Use Working Group approved prior meeting minutes and heard the Agricultural Committee describe Peter Spring Field's farming potential. Co-Chair Sven Weber addressed public concerns about the group's agenda compliance with Public Meeting Law, stating town counsel found no violations and that the group would improve agenda transparency going forward. Multiple residents opposed using the field for a Public Works facility, citing endangered turtle nesting, biodiversity, and traffic impacts.
The group discussed a proposed $600,000 Annual Town Meeting request for municipal facilities planning, with roughly $350,000 earmarked for Public Safety facilities. Members expressed concern about completing Phase II's ambitious charge before their July 2026 term end, with member Mary Hartman noting that robust community engagement comparable to the MCI Concord Vision Plan may exceed the capacity of volunteer-staffed committees.
