CONCORD — The Hugh Cargill Trust approved its June treasurer's report, reporting a $285,000 combined fund balance. Trustees in Concord received $6,100 in donations to the trust and $150 for property tax relief, and disbursed $5,000 from the trust's silent fund to Emerson Umbrella camp programs plus a $920 campership. Catherine, who presented the report, said one $5,000 gift came from a foundation.

Dean told trustees that redirecting any of the town's newly disclosed roughly $5 million budget surplus toward the property tax relief fund "would take an action of town meeting," pointing to a recent process that shifted town funds to cover an overspent snow removal account. Shannon said town counsel had not yet responded on whether funds could be transferred between trust accounts. Trustees set their next meeting for August 11 via Zoom before entering executive session to discuss individual assistance requests.
