Concord's Disability Commission voted unanimously to accept a townwide ADA self-evaluation and transition plan but delayed its Select Board presentation to August.
Other Committee · Meeting of July 9, 2026
Concord's Disability Commission voted unanimously to accept a townwide ADA self-evaluation and transition plan but delayed its Select Board presentation to August. ADA Coordinator Jess Porter said the report, prepared by consultant Emmanuel of KMA, needs clarification on how priorities were ranked before going forward. Commission member Andrew, who said he previously led accessibility at Adobe, found roughly 500 images missing alternative text in the report's 446-page appendix, calling the PDF fixable "with 1,000 percent certainty." Member Rose, who uses a wheelchair, questioned why mismounted restroom grab bars were not ranked as top priorities.
Town Moderator Karlyn Reed separately asked the commission for input on criteria for ADA remote participation at town meeting, with a goal of finalizing rules by October 1.
