Other Committee · Meeting of August 19, 2026
Concord's committee overseeing the town's Climate Action and Resilience Plan approved August 10 meeting minutes 6-0 and spent most of a 90-minute session reworking draft plan language. Members agreed to strip explicit references to the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority from a water-regionalization action after one member said he had "no opinion" on whether Concord should become an "MWRA town," opting instead for broader "integrated water resource management" language. The committee also pushed consultants to make a Vision Zero transportation action more action-oriented, noting "we sent a letter sent to the select board saying we support vision zero adopted as a policy." Staff confirmed BSC Group has been selected, from five proposals, as consultant for a regional SuAsCo climate vulnerability assessment set to begin in September.
The committee also learned its planned September 12 Agriculture Day table must be rescheduled because that date falls on Rosh Hashanah.
