CONCORD — Public Works Commission unanimously approves Wright Tavern capacity appeal. The Wright Tavern Legacy Trust, which is restoring the 1747 historic property at 2-6 Lexington Road as a community gathering place and educational center with a refreshment center and brewery laboratory, had its wastewater capacity request approved despite exceeding the 1,000 gallons-per-day administrative threshold. Vice Chair Gretchen Roorbach moved to approve the appeal for 2,215 gallons per day peak design flow; the commission found the 12-month rolling average impact at approximately 50 percent of peak flow to be insignificant given available system capacity and consistency with the town's comprehensive wastewater management plan.
Director Alan H. Cathcart reported that excessive storm activity is straining the annual snow operations budget, with two of four sidewalk plows currently out of service.
