CONCORD — Public Works Commission recommends approval of revised Article 30 solar rooftop proposal. The Commission unanimously endorsed the amendment shifting the solar rooftop language from a mandate to a Select Board policy urge, granting the town greater flexibility for waivers and technology adjustments without returning to Town Meeting. The Commission also unanimously re-elected Andrea Solomon as Chair and Christine Reynolds as Vice Chair for another year to ensure continuity during anticipated transitions in senior management.
Town Engineer Steve Dookran reported a significant staffing shortage following the loss of two senior engineers, necessitating outsourcing of design and inspection work for $8.3 million in upcoming road paving contracts, while winter maintenance costs exceeded budget by approximately $410,000.
