CONCORD — Three Concord Land Use Working Group subcommittees near completion of facility consolidation assessments. The Public Works Subgroup, examining a potential new campus at the MCI site, reported preliminary cost estimates of $30 million to $40 million and an 80,000 square foot building requirement on 8.9 acres. The Public Safety Subgroup, after touring new facilities in Lexington, developed four strategic options ranging from status quo to a single central campus, with construction costs of roughly $800 to $1,000 per square foot.
The Municipal Office Consolidation Subgroup is modeling six options and expects to deliver recommendations by the end of January. All subgroups are to submit draft reports by month's end, with full presentations scheduled for February.
