Concord's Natural Resources Commission flagged a steep funding crunch and cleared a contested garage rebuild.
Other Committee · Meeting of October 7, 2026
Concord's Natural Resources Commission flagged a steep funding crunch and cleared a contested garage rebuild. Commissioner Ed Nardi reported 15 Community Preservation Act applications this cycle total $3.8 million against an estimated $2 million available, with the commission's own requests for Cockett Park acquisition, Conservation Fund growth and Rifle Range Trail work totaling nearly $1.1 million; the Community Preservation Committee decides Nov. 9. The commission unanimously appointed Vicki Alani to the Warner's Pond Management Committee after a proposed non-voting "associate member" seat fell through when a second finalist declined.
It also unanimously approved a negative determination letting East Coast Construction and Development rebuild a failing garage foundation at 552 Cambridge Turnpike, conditioned on hand removal of debris dumped years ago by the property's former Crosby family owners. Abutter Joyce Lambsdorf objected to a 131 Martin Road rebuild she called "a mansionization project," though the applicant said the retaining wall she worried about would not be touched.
