Other Committee · Meeting of June 3, 2026
Concord's Cemetery Committee approved a cleaning project and rewrote cemetery master plan language in a short June 3 meeting. The committee voted 3-0 by roll call, with Jeff Walton, Rebecca Noe and Beth Van Dueser all voting aye, to let the Friends of Sleepy Hollow Cemetery clean 10 headstones on June 9, 2026. Members also voted 3-0 to replace the master plan's introductory paragraph, adding language citing "over 1,800 veterans" among those buried there, after one member said "everybody to me is important." Resident Dick Monaghan again pressed the committee to loosen flat-marker rules, asking "I'm asking for people's views as to why they don't want to do it," but no member offered a motion, leaving the existing two-marker limit per lot intact.
The meeting adjourned at 4:24 p.m.
