Warner's Pond Committee votes to hire consultant for mitigation strategy
Warner's Pond Management Committee · Meeting of June 4, 2026
CONCORD — Warner's Pond Committee votes to hire consultant for pond mitigation. The committee unanimously selected a certified pond manager working model over a turnkey firm approach, choosing independent consulting that would allow competitive bidding on recommended mitigation work. Members discussed strategies including water chestnut pulling, herbicides, hydro raking, and potential water-level drawdown, with Chair Christine Denaro asking for a final RFP draft by July.
In separate action, members split 3-2 on filling a vacancy left by departing member Elissa Brown, with Denaro, Bill Kemeza, and Phil Brewer voting to recommend a former task force member and pond abutter, while Carlene Hempel and Dan Stapleton voted to open the selection to all qualified candidates.
