Select Board · Meeting of August 17, 2026

CONCORD — The Concord Select Board approved a 3.75 percent merit bonus for Town Manager Kerry LaFleur. The board voted 4-0-1, with member Dean Banfield abstaining, awarding LaFleur $9,353.28 after a first-ever evaluation process that folded in 360-degree feedback from senior staff and the communications manager alongside the board's own review. Member Paul Boehm argued the board's own score should carry more weight "because the town manager works for the town rather than staff," while Mary Hartman weighted goals and leadership equally.

Separately, the Land Use Working Group's final report, presented by co-chair Sven Weber, recommended a new Public Safety Facilities Building Committee and warned combined public safety and public works facility costs could exceed $100 million. The board also unanimously authorized town counsel to respond to an Open Meeting Law complaint over a July 6 executive session, with a response due by August 21.
