Select Board disbands CMS building committee
Select Board · Meeting of September 28, 2026
Concord light plant customers face five years of rate hikes after a $9.2 million error. The Select Board's Financial Audit Committee, represented by board member Cameron, reported a new auditor found 12 significant deficiencies and three material misstatements in the Concord Municipal Light Plant's books, including a miscalculation that built up over five years and will push bills up roughly "$8 per month per resident" to correct. The board separately voted unanimously to disband the Concord Middle School Building Committee, with the project finishing about $7.3 million under its $110 million authorization, and resolved two tree disputes, denying removal of six healthy pines at 8 College Road pending an independent assessment while approving tree removal for a new Walden Street subdivision.
The board also heard that two 40B housing projects have pulled $1,263,280.93 in building permits this fiscal year.
