Select Board · Meeting of August 31, 2026
Concord's Select Board adopted a three-year transportation strategy and voted 4-1 to retire its public-access TV advisory committee. The board unanimously approved the Comprehensive Transportation Strategy, shaped by more than 300 public comments, after Clerk Cameron McKennitt said nearby developments point to "a 40 percent increase in the number of housing units" in West Concord. Member Mary Hartman cast the lone vote against a National Grid request to replace a Bedford Street gas line, questioning why a 2-inch pipe was being swapped for a 4-inch one.
The board voted 4-1, Paul Boehm dissenting, to retire the Public, Educational and Governmental Access Committee, which oversaw Minuteman Media Network's roughly $400,000 Comcast-funded budget. Residents also read from an August 23 Middlesex Superior Court ruling finding the Historic Districts Commission's denials of an Archstone Builders project "pretextual" and "tainted by obvious bias."
