Municipal Light Board advances dual solar expansion projects
Light Board · Meeting of August 12, 2026
CONCORD — Light Board receives audit wake-up call on 2017 rate error. Director Jason Bulger reported that auditors discovered a calculation error in the provision for rate refunds dating back to 2017, prompting an accounting adjustment that may lead to an increase in the currently negative Power Cost Adjustment. The Board received updates on two solar expansion projects: the landfill solar and battery project (4-megawatt solar array, 5-megawatt by 20-megawatt-hour battery storage, with Board of Assessors and Select Board PILOT approval) expects construction within four to six months, while the middle school solar project using PowerOptions procurement is in requirements and legal review, targeted for 2026 completion to capture investment tax credits.
