Concord Schools Release Quality Report Before Monday's Return

CONCORD — Concord Public Schools posted its 2024-2025 Concord-Carlisle High School Quality Report and finalized 2026-2027 bus routes as the district's roughly six schools prepare to welcome students back Monday, Aug. 31, while the Concord Free Public Library rolled out a new statewide community read tied to a September author event.

The town's Public Health Department is flagging national attention to cyclosporiasis, a gastrointestinal illness caused by the microscopic parasite Cyclospora. The department says Massachusetts case counts remain typical for this time of year, but it is urging residents to stay aware of a case rise the CDC has tracked in multiple states.

SCHOOLS

Concord-Carlisle Regional School District published its 2024-2025 CCHS Quality Report, part of the district's year-in-review materials, and posted bus routes for the 2026-2027 year alongside the finalized academic calendar. The district's roughly six schools, serving preschool through grade 12, open for the first day of classes on Monday, Aug. 31, with no school Sept. 4 and Labor Day observed Sept. 7.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Concord Free Public Library is joining libraries statewide in a shared community read of "Nothing More of this Land: Community, Power, and the Search for Indigenous Identity" by author Joseph Lee. Copies are available at the Fowler Library, the book will anchor September book club discussions, and the library plans a watch-party Q&A with Lee as part of the program.
