Concord Health Officials Raise West Nile Virus Risk To Moderate

Concord health officials raised the town's West Nile virus risk level to moderate this week after mosquito samples in neighboring towns tested positive, urging residents to take precautions during dusk and dawn hours.
TOWN HALL The town's health advisory follows positive West Nile virus mosquito samples in communities bordering Concord. Officials are recommending residents use mosquito repellent and limit outdoor exposure during peak dusk and dawn hours while the moderate risk designation remains in effect.
Separately, the town rolled out its FY26 Grants Dashboard, a new online tool meant to show residents how Concord is leveraging grant funding to support community programs. Construction crews continue work on the Rideout Park courts at 61 Laws Brook Road in West Concord, a project that began Aug. 24. And with the Sept. 1 state primary approaching, the town's early in-person voting window closes Friday, Aug. 28, at 12:30 p.m. at the Town House.
SCHOOLS Concord-Carlisle Regional School District posted its 2026-2027 bus routes online this week ahead of the new school year. The district also reminded families that the 2026-2027 academic calendar is available on its website, and pointed to its newly released Concord Public Schools and Concord-Carlisle High School Quality Report, a look back at the 2024-2025 school year.
