Concord Historical Commission agrees to develop interpretive markers plan

Historical Commission · Meeting of June 18, 2026

Concord Historical Commission adds interpretive markers plan to 2025 preservation guide. The commission agreed to develop an interpretive plan with recommendations for permanent and temporary signage and commemorative markers as part of its Historic Preservation Plan. Lauren Meier, a commission member, emphasized the need for consistent themes flowing through Concord's historic resources, drawing on models from the Freedom's Way National Heritage Area and Essex National Heritage Area.

Rob Munro and Nancy Fresella-Lee were identified as commission members well-suited to lead the effort. The commission also discussed proposed Wireless EDGE Towers at 755 Walden Street, agreeing that Chair Ellis and Meier would provide written feedback on concerns about visual impact within the National Historic Landmark area.
