CONCORD — The Concord Community Preservation Committee approved shifting previously committed funds for the Thoreau Elementary School athletic fields project after the district raised private money for part of the work. Chair Diana Proctor said she and member Jeff Collins reviewed the request informally over the summer rather than call an emergency meeting, since the district needed to break ground before fall classes started. The committee voted six in favor with member Andrew Boardman recusing because his child attends the school.
Staff member Ann Clifford told members the request fell "suitably broad" within the project's original scope. The committee also opened its next CPA funding cycle, setting a September 18 application deadline and citing roughly $1.45 million allocated in the prior cycle, including $783,000 for community housing.
