Commission establishes remote Town Meeting access accommodation

Commission on Disability · Meeting of August 13, 2026

CONCORD — Commission on Disability establishes framework for remote Town Meeting access. Chair Jennifer Brooke and the Commission approved procedures for remote participation as an ADA accommodation, capping the first-year pilot at 20 to 25 participants, with Town Moderator Karlen Reed developing the application form and confirming eligibility criteria with Town Clerk Kari Tari and the Massachusetts Office on Disability. The Commission also adopted four evaluation criteria — impact, realization, cost and funding, and legal implication — for prioritizing recommendations from the town's 43-page ADA Transition Plan, with Member Laura Will generating a categorized departmental table and Assistant Town Manager Jess Porter preparing it for Select Board presentation.

Building Commissioner Kevin Pickering will attend the September meeting to discuss site plan review accessibility standards.
