Concord Natural Resources Commission names 10-acre conservation parcel Wheeler Field, supports exterior lighting bylaw. The panel unanimously approved the naming of the 3.3-acre parcel at 10A Attawan Road in honor of 1946 donors Berkeley Wheeler and Vernon Hitchins, with a commemorative sign to be installed by spring. The commission also unanimously backed a Buffer Zone Restoration Plan for a Fitchburg Turnpike violation involving tree cutting and fill, including native replanting, fencing, boulders, and bi-annual reports through 2028.
Four applications—two for 874 Barretts Mill Road and one each for Concord Country Store and Concord Land Conservation Trust—were continued to April 22. Chair Grimwood condemned online defamation targeting Director Delia Kaye's 20-year tenure.
