Natural Resources Commission backs conservation fund bylaw with Select Board veto clause

Natural Resources Commission · Meeting of March 11, 2026

Concord Natural Resources Commission backs Conservation Fund Bylaw with Select Board veto authority. Chair Sarah Grimwood and Commissioner Jim Smith, after attending a Select Board meeting, recommended approving Article #25 with language requiring board approval of land acquisitions, reversing the NRC's earlier position that lacked such oversight. The commission voted unanimously to support both Article #25 and Article #26/Item C.

The NRC also unanimously issued an Order of Conditions for the 874 Barretts Mill Road subdivision road project and approved a restoration plan for riverbank damage at 106 Elm Street involving unauthorized artifact digging. Six wetlands applications were continued to April 1, 2026, and three Certificates of Compliance were issued.
