Economic Vitality Committee backs warrant articles, greenlights arts forum letter

CONCORD — The Economic Vitality Committee unanimously approved two warrant articles and authorized Chair Michael Lawson to submit a letter endorsing an Arts and Cultural Business Forum set for May 4. On Warrant Article 35 (Wireless Overlay) and Article 36 (Joint Parking), the committee voted in favor; on Article 33 (MBTA Zoning), no determination was made. Tourism Manager Beth Williams reported that tour and visitor numbers are up, domestic travel is strong, and Collette Tours has booked 40 dates this year after years of cultivation; Williams recommended a 40- to 50-room boutique hotel to address lodging demand in Concord.
