Concord Sets Sept. 1 Primary, Ballot Deadline Aug. 25

CONCORD — Concord's Sept. 1 State Primary date is now official, with vote-by-mail applications due Aug. 25 by 5 p.m., according to the town's News Flash. A new road-work advisory covering five town streets and the return of Concord-Carlisle students to class later this month round out the week's town news.

The 2026 State Primary is set for Tuesday, Sept. 1, the town announced. Residents who want to vote by mail must submit their applications by 5 p.m. on Aug. 25, giving voters roughly nine days from this weekend to get paperwork in.

Separately, the town issued a Road Work Advisory covering Lowell, Bedford, Sudbury, Maple and Old Bedford roads. The notice does not specify an end date; residents driving those corridors should expect continued construction activity.

SCHOOLS

Concord-Carlisle students head back to class Aug. 31, capping a summer that includes two staff professional development days on Aug. 27 and 28, according to the district's calendar. The Joint School Committee is also scheduled to meet later in the month as the new school year approaches.
