Commission approves farmhouse addition, continues roofline project
Historic Districts Commission · Meeting of February 25, 2026
CONCORD — Historic Districts Commission approves Barrett Farm addition, continues saltbox review. Vice Chair Tim Whitney and members Bill Huyett, Walter Clay, Jeff Young, and Kristen Dahlmann unanimously approved the Concord Housing Foundation's application to build a roughly 14-by-24-foot addition to a Town-owned farmhouse at 449 Barretts Mill Road, replace a window, and install a heat pump. The Commission voted 5-0 to continue Lawrence Calabro's application for alterations and an addition at 320 Lowell Road, citing concerns that the roofline changes would overwhelm the historic saltbox form of the Hunt-Hosmer House, dating to the seventeenth century.
Commissioners asked the applicant to return with a more subordinate design.
