School Committee · Meeting of June 23, 2026
Concord's two school committees approved a three-year administrative assistants contract and a revised preschool mural design. At a brief joint meeting June 23, the Concord School Committee and Concord-Carlisle Regional School Committee ratified the K-12 administrative assistants' contract by roll call, after a staff member called "very pleasant to bargain with" helped close negotiations the union had already ratified. Six members voted "aye," some "for both" committees and some "for region" only, with no recorded dissent.
The Concord committee then voted 3-0 to approve a reworked mural design for Ripley Elementary School's integrated preschool after the original artwork's resemblance to illustrator Eric Carle's work raised copyright concerns. A member identified as Michael moved the mural approval, and a staff member called Lori said the new design has "much more floral and garden-like feel," funded through a CEF grant with installation planned over the summer.
