School panel finalizes climate and culture framework

Concord's Climate and Culture Working Group finalized a data framework and narrowed professional development options ahead of a September 23 School Committee vote. Facilitator Brian said consultant Dr. Darnisa Monty-Jackson could start a 90-minute training in October, calling it "a slam dunk," while Dr.
Carlos Hoyt declined to participate and Jim Tull recommended "Difficult Conversations" instead of facilitating a session. Member Michael pushed back, arguing none of the proposals addressed the committee's own internal working dynamics: "there's nothing in Dr. Monty-Jackson's framework that I think speaks to that." Michelle suggested folding a 10-minute dynamics segment into Monty-Jackson's existing training rather than booking a second session, citing budget uncertainty.
The framework itself centers on eight indicators of success checked three times a year against YRBS, Panorama and METCO survey data.
