Commission Approves Temporary Piano Art Installation in Historic Districts
Historic Districts Commission · Meeting of April 15, 2026
Concord Historic Districts Commission backs temporary piano art installation for May and June. The commission voted 4-1 to approve the Concord Conservatory of Music's "Pianos on the Town" installation, which will place three artist-decorated pianos at the Concord Museum courtyard, Middlesex Savings Bank, and the post office for 30 days beginning May 30. Chair Kate Chartener, Vice Chair Tim Whitney, and members Jeff Young and Louis Caldarella voted in favor; member Walter Clay dissented.
The commission also unanimously approved amendments to a Certificate of Hardship for 77 Walden Street, allowing replacement of all windows after unforeseen state-mandated lead remediation made restoration impractical.
