CONCORD — West Concord Advisory Committee reviews cell coverage plans for business district. Deputy Town Manager Megan Zammuto presented a proposal to site a single-carrier monopole on town-owned Rideout property, chosen over Harvey Wheeler due to space and historic considerations. Committee members voiced concerns about the tower's impact on Rideout as a civic space and property values, and questioned whether coverage gaps had been adequately surveyed.
The town aims to solicit bids by fiscal year 2026 start, per Select Board direction. Separately, the committee approved $27,501 in funding for Bruce Freeman Rail Trail wayfinding signage along the 3.75-mile West Concord section, with three directory signs planned at Gerow, Nashoba Brook, and the Rifle Range.
