Select Board Launches Office Hours at Main Library
Concord announced Oct. 25 that the Select Board is starting informal office hours, with the next session set for Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Main Library's Trustee Room, offered at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m.
The Town of Concord announced Oct. 25 that the Select Board is starting a new series of informal office hours for residents. The next opportunity was set for Thursday, Oct. 29, with two Select Board members available in the Trustee Room at the Main Library, offering a morning session at 9 a.m. and an evening session at 6 p.m.
According to the announcement, sessions will continue every other Thursday, with board members rotating so residents can meet different members over time. There is no formal agenda; residents can stop by to ask a question, raise a concern, share an idea or learn more about an issue that matters to them.
The Select Board said in the release that formal Select Board meetings will remain an important part of Concord's open-government process, but that a formal meeting setting is not always ideal for conversation. The board noted that several important matters are likely to come before Town Meeting next May and said it wants residents to have ample opportunity to understand the issues, ask questions and share their views before those decisions are made.
The board invited residents to "stop by," adding, "Bring a question. Bring an idea. Bring a neighbor."
