The Town of Concord announced Oct. 29 that it is aware of fraudulent emails and texts targeting people with pending applications before the Planning Board, Board of Appeals and Historic Districts Commission. The messages request additional application fee payments.

The town said its Planning Division does not send invoices for application fees. All legitimate fees are collected in person when an application is submitted, and town staff does not correspond with applicants by text. Any legitimate correspondence from town staff will come from an email address ending in @concordma.gov.

Anyone who receives a suspicious email or text, or who has questions about application fees, is asked to contact the Town of Concord Planning Division at (978) 318-3290 or planningdivision@concordma.gov.
