CONCORD — Select Board unanimously backs antisemitism proclamation with IHRA definition. The board approved the proclamation on January 27 after extensive public comment split between supporters and opponents concerned the definition could chill free speech and criticism of Israeli policies. The board also unanimously approved a revised DEI Commission charge that explicitly addresses antisemitism and redefined diversity to prioritize historically marginalized populations, rejecting board member Cameron McKennitt's proposal to broaden the definition to all differences.
In related business, the board appointed Breht Feigh to the Financial Audit Advisory Committee and received updates on audit delays that prompted the town to switch from its original auditing firm to Roselli, Clark and Associates for the FY25 review.
