Disability Panel Presses Public Works on Sidewalk Access
Other Committee · Meeting of September 17, 2026
Concord's Commission on Disability presses Public Works on a $6 million sidewalk repair backlog. Interim Director of Public Works Aaron Miklosko told the commission a 2025 Stantec study found $6 million in overdue sidewalk and curb-ramp repairs and $11 million more needed to extend the network, while the paving program has rebuilt 85 curb ramps this year using a $27.5 million roadway and safety bond. Building Commissioner Kevin Pickering invited the commission to review accessibility plans, including a possible adult changing table, for an amenities building serving two Chapter 40B developments totaling 437 units.
"I'd love to be able to use you guys more," Pickering said. Town Moderator Carolyn Reed said a remote Town Meeting participation pilot for residents with disabilities opens for applications February 1.
