Other Committee · Meeting of May 19, 2026

Concord's Community Preservation Committee rescinded about $25,000 from closed-out grants and elected Diane Rocker chair and Jeff Collins vice chair for the coming year. The panel declined to let the Rideout Park tennis and basketball courts renovation, budgeted near $497,000, swap away post-tension concrete after prices doubled, with member Nancy Nelson calling herself "an ardent advocate of post-tension concrete." Members approved extensions for Wright Tavern structural repairs, the Assabet River pedestrian bridge design and the Concord Historic Preservation Plan, but tabled a Bruce Freeman Rail Trail extension amid confusion over a separate $45,000 Concord Prison Outreach grant. The committee rescinded $20,000 from the long-dormant Wheeler-Harrington House project and $2,704 from a drinking fountains grant, and asked for a fuller report on the roughly $700,000 Giroux Recreation Area project.

Burton Flint and Nancy Nelson attended their final meeting.
