Select Board approves two committee appointments, advances Article 42.
Select Board · Meeting of April 29, 2026
CONCORD — Select Board approves two citizen appointments and takes affirmative stance on Article 42 for Town Meeting. The board unanimously appointed Matthew Eiland to the Agricultural Committee (term to May 31, 2029) and Samuel Hiersteiner to the Economic Vitality Committee (term to May 31, 2028), and voted unanimously to support the original Article 42 motion. In a separate unanimous vote, the board declined to reconsider Article 35, which concerns cellular infrastructure improvements and achieved 66 percent support at the previous evening's Town Meeting but fell short of the required two-thirds majority.
Former Moderator Eric Van Loon raised concerns about the late hour of the vote and emergency-services implications, but the board determined reconsideration was not warranted.
