West Concord Cultural District Committee · Meeting of January 7, 2026
CONCORD — West Concord Cultural District Committee finalizes sculpture call for Junction Park with $4,000 artist honorarium. The committee, chaired by Sue LaChance, unanimously approved refined specifications requiring artwork responding to nature and peace themes, measuring no more than 8 feet high and 5 feet wide, and suitable for one-year temporary installation beginning August 2026. The Massachusetts Cultural Council confirmed $15,000 in 2026 funding for the district.
Committee member Mimi Graney drafted a response to the MCC's newly proposed cultural district guidelines; Chris Randall moved that LaChance be deputized to sign the letter on behalf of the committee, with Jen Hurley-Wales seconding. The motion passed unanimously. The committee also approved the 2025 Annual Report documenting the Art Loop sidewalk decal installation, Poetry Phone programming, and Porchfest events.
