West Concord Cultural District approves sculpture, piano sponsorship, budget allocations

CONCORD — West Concord Cultural District approves $2,500 piano sponsorship and sculpture selection. The committee unanimously backed artist Stephen Klema's seven-foot wood sculpture "Rybee House" for Junction Park and committed $2,500 to sponsor a painted piano as part of the town's "Pianos on the Town" initiative. Sue Beck will present the sculpture choice to the Select Board.
The committee also unanimously approved a $500 performance contract for Rock-a-bye Beats at the May 16 Spring Into West Concord Day event. Porchfest has been rescheduled from June 6 to June 13, with 32 bands already registered. Angelina Gennis was unanimously admitted as a new member; Maureen Goldin announced her resignation.
