CONCORD — Transportation Advisory Committee reviews Stantec's ranked safety projects. Chair Mark Gailus presented updated cost estimates and revised rankings incorporating crash data and school-proximity weighting; the committee was asked to select priority items for implementation. In parallel updates, Community Development Director Alyssa Sandoval reported Concord has joined the 495 MetroWest Traffic Management Association, largely grant-funded, and is exploring a Lowell Transit Authority bus service connecting Concord, Maynard, and Acton to supplement the overwhelmed Council of Aging shuttle.
Public Works Director Alan Cathcart emphasized the prioritization process represents a trial period, with 25 percent design documents to be shared for public input as engineering progresses.
