Trails Committee forms bike-policy subcommittee, reviews spring maintenance.

CONCORD — Trails Committee establishes subcommittee to draft town-wide e-bike and bicycle-use policy. Committee Chair Bob White, Steward Jeff York, and visitors Wade Rubenstein and Bill Robichaud will develop recommendations following a public hearing, modeled partly on Lincoln's red-blaze system designating e-bike-permitted trails. Land Manager Will Holden reported removal of eight trees or large limbs across four properties in March and outlined spring projects: a swamp trail reroute (late April or early May), October Farm parking lot expansion, bobolink seasonal leash signage at Mattison Field, and a three- to four-foot trail widening at Old Rifle Range.
Stewards reported unauthorized mountain bike construction with jumps and ditches at Hapgood-Wright Town Forest and downed trees at White Pond Reservation and Punkatasset Preserve.
