CONCORD — Tax Relief Evaluation Task Force advances survey analysis of residential exemption program. Co-chairs Ellen Quackenbush and Jon Piper reported that 47 percent of renter respondents were housing cost constrained versus 30 percent of homeowners, and that 55 percent of RTE beneficiaries had household incomes below $150,000 annually. The task force approved moving its March 5 meeting to 8:30 AM to avoid conflict with a School Board warrant article hearing and commissioned additional analysis, including comparative tax bills for $1.5 million homes in Concord and nearby towns and further examination of which non-qualifying properties fund the $2.9 million balance of RTE costs.
