CONCORD — Heywood Meadow Stewardship Committee approved December minutes and updated multiple initiatives. Natural Resources Director Delia Kaye reported design drawings for a stonewall project are due by January 31 and must clear NRC, Public Works Engineering, and Historic Districts Commission reviews before summer construction begins. Apple tree pruning is tentatively set for January 14 through a donation from George Carrette's Eco-Quiet Lawncare Company, with the committee discussing possible replacement plantings and Chair Peter Lee seeking Concord Bridge coverage.
Community engagement work is advancing on multiple fronts: photo exhibit at Haute Coffee in spring, flyer finalization by January 12, and root and invasives removal scheduled for May through youth and school groups under Rod Reidel's coordination, targeting six to twelve students per session using six available weed wrenches.
