Concord schools approved superintendent goals targeting math proficiency gaps on September 9. Superintendent Dr. Laurie Hunter emphasized a significant gap where overall eighth-grade math proficiency stands at 66 percent, compared to 22 percent for students with disabilities and 48 percent for low-income students.
She stated improvements must begin with core instruction through Universal Design for Learning and differentiation rather than relying solely on Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions. The committees also unanimously approved the Protect Act Policy and authorized a $697,173 bond anticipation note at 3.75 percent for Concord-Carlisle High School access road work.
