Recreation Commission discusses draft outdoor facility usage policy

CONCORD — Recreation Commission reviews outdoor facility usage policy for Rideout Park courts. Director Leigh Jackson and Assistant Director DJ Fimiani presented a draft update that would align pickleball and tennis reservation fees at $20 per hour for residents and $30 for non-residents, cap reservations at four per week per person and two hours maximum, and require insurance documentation for organized groups only. Staff benchmarked policies against seven surrounding communities.
Chair Phil Griffiths emphasized the draft remains under development, with additional public feedback opportunities before any formal Commission vote. Public comment clarified that open play would continue without reservations or insurance requirements.
