Recreation Commission authorizes full Rideout Park project funding from revolving account

CONCORD — Recreation Commission backs full Rideout Park project from revolving fund. Chair Phil Griffiths and commissioners voted unanimously to authorize funding up to the full project amount from the Recreation Revolving Fund if needed, with the total project estimated at approximately $1.598 million including post-tension concrete and related alternates. Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Barrett reported the revolving fund balance at $1.9 million, with roughly $560,000 available for capital projects after reserves.
Outside funding sources total approximately $722,000, including $497,153 requested from the Community Preservation Committee. The Commission emphasized that funding comprehensively now would avoid higher long-term costs, while still maintaining reserves above required thresholds.
