Concord Historical Commission approves prior minutes and hears Black Heritage Trail marker proposal. Chair Douglas J. Ellis and members praised a pilot project by Mimi Graney and Jen Turner to install eight to ten interpretive markers on Concord's Black Heritage Trail, funded by a $28,000 budget combining a $14,000 federal tourism grant and $14,000 in town ARPA funds.
Commission members raised concerns about the tight timeline and lack of town-wide signage policy, questioning design uniformity and maintenance requirements. Project organizers will return with refined plans before seeking formal commission recommendation and Select Board approval by June.
