Council on Aging approves May 27 ramp opening, plans van assessment

CONCORD — Council on Aging board greenlights May 27 ramp opening and reassesses vehicle fleet. COA Director Dan Petitt reported the organization will rename its newsletter "The Newsletter," announced plans for Tall Ships and Turkey Train programs, and disclosed that the Outreach Coordinator's comfort dog Momo is insured for $1 million. The board discussed purchasing a new or smaller van with potential wheelchair accommodation capacity.
Chair Christina Kendrick reported preliminary discussions about low-cost regional transportation to Bedford and Maynard, noting any service would remain Concord-based. Public Health Nurse Katie will work 15 hours per week at COA after the Maynard contract ends July 1.
