Concord Council on Aging approves nurse position title shift and reviews gift fund allocation. COA Director Dan Petitt reported on Valentine's Day programming and a senior reading pairing first and fourth graders, while the board discussed deploying $162,000 in available gift money toward transportation access improvements, including possible part-time drivers and vehicle acquisition. The board unanimously approved changing the nursing position from Registered Nurse to Licensed Practical Nurse with no change in pay, after receiving guidance that an LPN can fulfill community health duties.
Board member Teri Stokes, reporting on Middlesex Senior Services, raised a question about whether COA board members should contribute financially, proposing $200 ongoing donations and recommending a check on potential conflicts of interest with town counsel.
