Concord public safety subgroup advances options for new facilities.
Land Use Working Group · Meeting of January 23, 2026
Concord's Public Safety Subcommittee reviewed alternatives for upgrading police and fire facilities. Members Judith Long, Mark Martines, and Sven Weber, co-chair of the Land Use Working Group, analyzed site visits to Lexington and Natick and evaluated options ranging from new construction in West Concord or Concord Center to renovation of existing sites. The group identified a new fire headquarters in West Concord as a priority, with questions remaining about site selection.
Members discussed hosting a regional dispatch center potentially eligible for 100 percent funding through 911 grants. The refined presentation will be shared with the broader Land Use Working Group on February 6, 2026.
