Concord Cultural Council approves new scribe, funds film festival request.
Concord Local Cultural Council · Meeting of March 11, 2026
Concord Local Cultural Council unanimously approves Barbara Ewen as new scribe and votes to set Enhancement grants at $500 maximum per award, totaling $3,000 across six potential groups. Chair Tooey Rogers heard requests for funding from Grace Bellavance of OARS, seeking $500 for the Wild and Scenic Film Festival (April 22-26 screenings at The Scout House), and from Ed Bernard for the World's A Stage Players' free summer production of Romeo and Juliet. Economic Vitality Manager Mimi Graney briefed the council on three pending Cultural District projects: Pianos on the Town, the Pride Rainbow Festival, and the Black Heritage Trail Markers initiative, noting all require Select Board and Historic Districts Commission approval.
The council scheduled an emergency Zoom meeting for March 19 at 3 p.m. to finalize Cultural District grant applications before the May 1 deadline.
